I am a researcher, volunteer, and speaker. I have authored and edited several blogs on the topic of love and relationships, now I am working on Love is A Bird.
I am a big believer in couple therapy and a strong supporter of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is a model of psychotherapy that studies how relationships may be repaired, how love ties function, and how people transform in psychotherapy. I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years.
Art takes a great part of my life. I specialize in American art in the modern and contemporary period. In 2016, I was a co-editor of Shift: A Graduate Journal of Visual and Material Culture and a special edition of the International Review of African American Art dedicated to Norman Lewis.
I have visited more than 15 countries and each one has taught me something new about people, their cultures and how they solve problems.
What I am most proud of is my big family. We are six kids and our parents are still together after more than 35 years of marriage! This is where my faith in building a strong relationship comes from.
Whenever I have a free time, I enjoy cooking for my family and friends. I am a keen chef and love trying out new recipes – especially sweet treats like cakes, pastries and desserts. My favourites are definitely chocolate brownies and apple pie!
